R.I.P. BW

Its true, Billion Watts is officially over. Do to conflicting schedules and conflicting interests, the best thing to do is to put this baby down to rest. We had lots of fun jamming, recording, and playing shows. But like a bunch of other awesome bands out there we have imploded. Anyway the Billion Watts Blog will stay up for a while just to give the other members some bragging rights and let other people see what they have done. So feel free to enjoy the music.

A complete new direction for Billion Watts, Girls. It would be cool if this could become a permanent thing. Celeste and Yohi lend there awsome voices for this track. Its called not the man for you.

Last Day

Newest addition to the studio. A 1974 Wurlitzer Organ. This was a gift from some friends, its got the weight of a million suns. Anyway, its getting put to good use. Here is the first recording from The Billion Watts featuring the Wurlitzer, its called Last Day.

Johi is a freind of ours with an awesome voice. She sings back up on this one. She makes this song rock. Thanks so much Johi!

Friday Night Jam

It looks like The Watts are back. We took a 4 month kickback do to conflicting schedules. We finally got back together this last friday and pounded out some fresh new stuff, its super fresh. One song is called "Oh Baby!" the other is called "The Mystic" or "Taste It" we don't know yet. Anyway check out the raw tracks fresh of my mac, and pics of our new jam space. Also that night, we got temporarily shut down by the cops, but we started back up 10 min after they left. Naughty!!!

Jumping Beans is a song by one of the most underrated music heros to date. Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV aka Frank Black aka Black Francis. Lets face it the dude is genius, so many good songs flow through this vessel. Oh yeah he also fronted a little band called the Pixies. The Show at Virgin

We had lots of fun. Thanks to the Virgin crew for all your help. Thanks to everyone who showed up. We were all really nervous, but having friendly faces there ready to rock, made it all worthwhile. We plan to do it again.

Carlos Song

Carlos is the bassist for BILLION WATTS. He came up with a bass line, and we started jamming to it. Anyway, the jam turned into a pretty nifty instrumental. With only one mic and one take we captured "Carlos Song".

True Love Will Find You In The End

This is a Daniel Johnston cover, one of my favorite songs. He is an awesome and underrated song writer. He went crazy in the late 80s early 90s and wrote songs about mountain dew for about 10 years. But the man is back, writing simple songs about love lost that cut to the core.
